In 2009, we began the journey of wedding films at the Jacksonville Zoo. 15 years and over 400 wedding later we are still in love with the art of capturing stories and creating and preserving moments and memories for our couples.
We, Laura and Doug have been filming weddings for over 15 years. We started Take One Films started in 2009 and have been witness to over 400 I do's, first kisses, toasts, tears of joy, laughter and that all important walk back down the aisle (one of Doug's favorite parts). With Doug's background in TV/Radio Broadcasting, and Laura's background in custom wedding stationery and assisting in wedding planning, filming weddings seemed like a creative outlet that we would enjoy.
We love telling stories through our cameras. It is truly an honor to be apart of such a momentous occasions and it is not a job we take lightly. Weddings are a fantastic opportunity to tell one of the greatest stories in two peoples lives. The story of your wedding day. You need more than just pretty shots and fancy equipment to tell a story, you have to be able to find the story and convey it. Capturing the sweet moments of the bride as she is getting ready with her girls, the face of the groom when he sees his bride for the first time and reliving the vows that you make to each other.
The magical moments of a first kiss, the beautiful, emotional speech given by your maid of honor and the all the little things a couple misses as the day flies by. All these elements make up the story of your day and it's those that we love to tell!
We pride ourselves in finding the little moments that go unseen, the small details that aren't so small,
the words spoken, the laughs, the cries and the pure joy!
- Most days she's a great cook...
.- She let's me geek out on "Star Wars"
- She's pretty much the best mommy ever
- She's secretly a "Star Wars" fan too
I couldn't do this without her.
Working with your wife is no small feat,
and many people often question how we do it. We make a great team, we trust each other
and we just love being together!
I wouldn't want it any other way.
- Most girls get flowers...I get tech gadgets
- I'm constantly laughing (or rolling my eyes)
- I love watching him play with our little guy
- Has the best "one liners" that I try to pass off as my own
Doug threw me into wedding films 15 years ago when he needed a second shooter at a wedding. There I was thinking I had the day to myself, but he had other plans...the rest is history! We love working together to make films for our couples.
